Jonathan Khazam is an advisor, board member, and investor with over 30 years of technology leadership experience and 20 years of board experience. With a distinctive combination of business and technical acumen, Jon has a proven track record of bringing new technology products to market and driving business growth with strategies that deliver meaningful customer value and sustainable competitive advantage.
Jon most recently served as EVP Strategy and Business Development at Graphcore, a leading startup enabling the next generation of machine intelligence. For 18 months prior to joining Graphcore, Jon was an independent consultant on CPUs and GPUs, particularly as applied to machine learning. From 2010- 2016, Jon was Corporate Vice President and General Manager of the Visual & Parallel Computing Group at Intel Corporation. There he led a global organization responsible for the development of Intel graphics including 3D, GPU compute, video, and display technologies – integrated into Intel processors serving Intel’s multi-$B PC, IOT, and data center businesses.
From 2005 to 2010, Jon built and led the Manageability & Middleware Division, an internal start-up developing value-add manageability and security software products. In 1999, Jon started a new division to develop and commercialize award-winning Intel software tools, establishing Intel as the premier provider of software tools for high performance and technical computing. These software businesses served the dual purpose of generating revenues both directly and via improved hardware margins by enhancing Intel platform competitiveness. Jon joined Intel in 1991 and held a number of roles of increasing responsibility spanning microprocessors, graphics, and software.
Jon has served on the boards of public and private/venture-funded companies, including Integrated Silicon Solution, Inc. (NASDAQ: ISSI); The Eclipse Foundation, a not-for-profit corporation overseeing the Eclipse open development platform; Zend Technologies (now part of Perforce Software), a leading web infrastructure software company; and served on the Technical Advisory Committee to the board of Imagination Technologies (LON: IMG) from 2016 until its acquisition in Nov-17. He was a founding board member at MLCommons, an open engineering consortium developing benchmarks for AI systems and is currently a board advisor. Jon also serves on the advisory boards of a number of AI-related startups.
Jon has an MBA from the Haas School of Business at U.C. Berkeley and a B.S.E.E. from Cornell University. He holds two patents.
